Residential Facilities
Communication A to Z offers a variety of services to residential facilities and day programs, including level four, negotiated rate, RCFE, STRP, group, and enhanced behavioral support homes. Using applied behavior analysis, our services intend to reduce and even eliminate the occurrence of negative behaviors that pose a risk to health and the safety of themselves or others. Through independent service plans, each person works to increase their activities of daily living, learn socially acceptable ways to communicate their wants and needs, and teach them the much-needed coping skills that help them put undesirable behaviors on extinction. Our team of dedicated consultants will design and provide staff with the training and intervention strategies necessary to manage and modify challenging behaviors while teaching functionally related replacement skills, as it pertains to the individual. The intended outcome is that the individuals we serve will be able to live in the least restrictive environment in the future.
Services Communication A to Z provides include but are not limited to:
- Performing initial behavioral assessments.
- Developing and maintaining individual positive behavior supports and intervention programs for each individual.
- Participating and developing individual support plans for annual and quarterly updates as needed.
- Attending Interdisciplinary meetings as needed by schools, regional centers, and residential facilities.
- Provide staff and administrator training regarding individual support plans, behavior intervention plans, as well as other areas as needed. CEUs can be provided for all training.
- Training in the implementation and follow-up of behavior plans of individuals in their care.
- Review of documents as needed within the facility, home, or program.
- Monitoring staff and individual engagement as well as providing feedback to promote successful interactions and conveying that information to administration for follow-up as needed.
- Participate in the troubleshooting of program plans and follow-up as needed to meet individual and facility needs.
- Write restrictive health care plans, training, and follow-ups for individuals with special medical needs.
- We are Certified Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Instructors and use the four levels of the developmental model to reduce escalation and the need for hands on restraints.
